A little different from other sub restaurants, Firehouse sells gourmet sandwiches prepared with specialized ingredients. Their submarine sandwiches are served hot and loaded, with generous fillings of meat, cheese, vegetables, as well as specially prepared condiments. What attracts customers is the amount of effort put into every part of the sandwich to ensure it comes out very tasty.
For example, they use Monterey Jack cheese, as opposed to store brand cheese, which makes a significant difference in how the final product tastes. Another example is their sub rolls, which are toasted to give them a brown color and bring out the taste of the bread. Other fast food subs generally use their bread without processing it through any form of heat.

Type of food served
To this day, the owners of the restaurant remain in charge of Firehouse menu prices as well as the dishes served. Some subs have always remained as constants on the menu, but new sandwiches come and go depending on the season and public preference. This concept has allowed Firehouse to stay true to their origins while still keeping up with trends and modern changes.
Target markets and sample dishes
Firehouse menu prices are set at amounts that guarantee great quality subs that are still available to the restaurant’s target market. The brand caters to customers on the go, like in airports and other transport terminals. They also serve the youth, specifically college students, and have recently opened an on-campus college branch to the same effect.
Some popular subs across the country include the Hook and Ladder sandwich, made up of smoked turkey as the meat ingredient. Customers then get to choose among different vegetables and condiments as toppings to complete the sub. As a way to keep up with technology, clients can now check out the Firehouse menu prices on the website and make online orders for delivery. The concept is especially appealing to avid users of online purchasing services.

History of the brand
Firehouse Subs was established by two brothers, Robin and Chris Sorensen. Before venturing into business, they had been working as fire fighters like their father. They began the restaurant in 1994, then left their former jobs to focus on the company. The brand has established more than 1150 franchise restaurants to date, by licensing other business owners to pay for franchises. In 2000, Firehouse began a program to finance such new owners, allowing them to increase their spread across America. Beyond that, they have ventured into Canada and Puerto Rico.
The restaurant has remained a private company all this while, even though they encourage franchising to increase their reach. In 2018, they were ranked as the Best Franchise To Buy by Forbes. They are also involved in community development activities. For instance, they help fund training for public safety organizations and first respondent groups.
Overall verdict
Firehouse is a unique fast-casual restaurant with even more interesting decor. The concept is derived from the fire-fighting department, with murals hang on walls to illustrate the intricacies of the profession. This, coupled with the tasty submarine sandwiches makes Firehouse a great place to eat.
