History

Of the two brands that merged to become Checkers and Rally’s, Rally’s was the first to open its first restaurant in Louisville, Kentucky in 1985. Checkers was founded in Alabama in 1986. 2 companies were working in two distinctly different regions in the US. However, there were similarities in their basic brand philosophies that they wanted to serve well-made food at a reasonable price. They wanted to cater to the drive-thru market with quick and tasty food in generous size and quantities. In 2014, this double brand was bought out by Sentinal Capital Partners. However, the brand still serves the same range of high-quality food at all its 800 locations in 28 states.
