Very nice atmosphere in a very small space. It works best as a wine bar- I tried to make a meal of one of their delicious pizzas but was still hungry afterward. I’m going to try to go back soon since they have bottles by the half-price Tuesday. They seem really knowledgeable about wine, and space allows you to enjoy it in a quiet way- perfect for a relaxing evening.
This cafe is a gem on 5th avenue! If you are looking for a good coffee or a glass of wine, with a nice dessert or snack (pizza, panini, bruschetta), Apropos is such a great little cafe to go to. I’ve been numerous times on my own and with friends, and I have never been disappointed. My fave things on the menu are the cheese board; the arugula salad which has cranberries, gorgonzola cheese, pumpkin seeds and this tasty dressing!!!; pesto, prosciutto, and cheese bruschetta, and pesto panini. I know that the portobello pizza is good too but I have yet to try it! Dessert wise – banana bread pudding or the cheesecake with blueberries! Also, good wines must be paired with good food, and there’s a fine selection of them here. The Gewurtztraminer is always a hit with me! And Tuesdays it’s half off every bottle!!! That said, the cafe space is very cozy, plays great music and the owner, Ali, is such a cool guy. Looking forward to my next visit!
