Krystal fast food restaurant is an American chain that specializes in small square hamburgers, better known as sliders. They also provide their customers with other dishes, for example, hot dogs, French fries, chicken, and milkshakes. One very unique thing about Krystal is that they also have a breakfast menu. It includes egg sandwiches and scrambled eggs with bacon and grits. This makes them especially popular among those returning home after long nights out. Krystal menu prices are especially worth it because the restaurant serves foods made of the best ingredients, like their Big Angus burgers made of 100 percent Angus beef.

What they serve

The menu has progressed over the years to incorporate new market trends. Adjustments began as early as 1950 with the first drive-through. Soon after, Krystal started serving breakfast dishes and expanded their brand even further. In 1970, they also launched their kettle fried chicken. Other new menu items include small hot dogs which came to be known popularly as pups and the larger Big Angus burger. Most recently, the chain launched Krystal Chik, their chicken breast burger which has become one of their fastest sellers.

Krystal also holds an annual hamburger eating competition where they award the person who eats the most hamburgers within the shortest time. The restaurant chain is now owned by the Argonne Capital Group.

History of the brand

Krystal was started in 1932 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It was founded by Rody Davenport Jr. and J. Glen Sherrill during the first few years of the Great Depression. Owing to the economic circumstances at the time, the launching new business was a high risk, and there was a chance that the venture would fail. The two partners went ahead and started the restaurant anyway, relying on the assumption that people would be willing to work with low Krystal menu prices if the meals were good, with great service in a clean restaurant.

The founders of Krystal did some research while starting the restaurant, in a bid to understand the market and what customers needed the most. They mostly evaluated White Castle, which was the biggest fast food chain in the South at the time. To this day, the two establishments remain the largest in that part of the country, with overlapping markets in some towns. In 1950, Krystal opened their first drive-through which was best known for its relatively slow service but very accurate orders. Since then, the restaurant has continued to grow and now in 360 locations all over America.

Verdict

Despite the numerous fast food restaurants that sell burgers in the United States, Krystal remains unique because of its small square sliders. Krystal menu prices are also very affordable. They have also managed to keep their standards of service very high, a factor that is often missing from similar establishments. The fact that they serve other dishes besides burgers also makes their market larger by not limiting them to customers with specific needs. Although the chain has faced some setbacks in its expansion, they have managed to stay together as a unit and expand into more locations albeit gradually. This highlights its sustainability and makes the brand more likely to last.
