History of Del Taco restaurant
David Jameson and Ed Hackbarth opened first Del Taco in 1964 in Yermo, California. In 1976 they sold it to another investor who in turn sold its name using rights to W.R Grace and Company in the US. They expanded it and by 1978 there were over 100 Del Taco restaurants. In 1988 it was merged with a restaurant chain Naugles’. This merger helped Del Taco chain to expand all over the world. By 2008 there were over 500 restaurants. In 2015, the company was purchased by Levy Acquisition Corporation.
