  1. The first time I had an issue with Kathmandu I overlooked it, waited for two hours to figure out the order wasn’t coming. Tonight we ordered at 7:45 and followed up at 9:00 to hear that it was on its way. At 10:05 we started cooking soup because it still wasn’t here. The Tika Masala is $14, too expensive to have small portions and zero reliability. I would stay away.

  2. I ordered Butter Chicken (Chicken Makhani) and was not expecting it to be very good. But I was completely surprised. It was extremely tasty, the gravy was of the right consistency and the spice level was optimum. I would say, it was the best Butter Chicken I have had in Austin of all the Indian Restaurants I have tried.

  3. We ordered 2 orders of meat samosas, MILD chicken Tikka Masala and garlic naan. The first delivery was wrong. They have us a spicy tikka and plain naan. They redelivered but you could still not taste the garlic on the naan. Even at mild the tikka was too hot to eat and we still were missing an order of samosas. We have ordered a lot in the past and we have never had this problem. I don’t know if they changed owners or recipes but looks like I will have to find a new place for Indian food.

  4. The first few times I ordered from here, all was great. This LAST time, there was something wrong with the raita: It was brownish and tasted weird, like it had soy sauce or rice wine in it. The Medium hot chicken biryani was ok, but boring. The veg samosas would have been ok, except the mint chutney tasted terrible, and how do you mess up mint chutney? and the samosas themselves were heavy and greasy, like they were left over from the day before. The keema naan was great, and the papadums were the kind you can get anywhere, but I’ve never had mint chutney that tasted this bad. I wondered if they’d added soy sauce or rice wine to that too. Just this weird, wrong flavor in it. I’ve gotten some great dal makhani from here before, but I doubt I’ll be ordering from here again. How do you mess up mint chutney?

  5. We have ordered from here on a few other apps. Our food was 20 minutes later then it was supposed to be. Then we open our food and the sauce for the Tikka is a tiny side cup that wasn’t even enough to cover the chicken. Normally the chicken and veggies are swimming in the sauce and that is how we like it because we mix the sauce with the rice. The naan was cold and very greasy whuch also was not normal. It was a cery disappointing meal that we threw away. So so sad.

  6. Didn’t bring correct food. Ignored notes about plates/utensils and no spicy/peppers, and note about bringing change for a $20. Driver did not have more than $2 to give me back for a $20 but the driver did not seem to “try” and find any solution. Half-heartedly reached into his pocket and said “i have $2”. Was tricked into leaving enormous $18 tip for a delivery that was LATE, INCORRECT, and Not good!

  7. This place exceeded our expectations. Food was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully spiced, and when they say hot, they mean it. Delicious roti, delicious paneer, and generous servings of chutney. My only critique is their green sauce, which was unnecessarily pigmented with food coloring. Will order again.

  8. The pleasure of dining on this food is only enhanced by sharing it with coworkers/friends. They did a great job of labeling everything upon request, so someone who likes medium didn’t get someone else’s Indian hot. Really wonderful restaurant.

  9. Fantastic food! Pretty consistent. Samosas are amazing! The chicken chow mein is a must. Overall, one of the best Indian restaurants in Austin. Only reason I don’t give it a 5 star is because the chutney sauces are not so good. We had one time that the sag paneer wasn’t great either. Aside from those issues, solid place for take out or delivery. Also, don’t let the front of the restaurant fool you. Very nice inside!

  10. It was my first time trying this restaurant, and I’m so glad I did! It was delivered hot, everything was wrapped to avoid the least spill, the portions were ample, and the food was delicious!! I will definitely order from Bombay to Kathmandu Kitchen again in the very near future!

  11. Food was delivered fast but no plastic ware was provided. Curry tasted sweet which I didn’t care for. Delivery guy made me walk outside and find his car. He didn’t even have the decency to get out and hand me my food. The transaction was handled with him in the drivers seat as if it was a shady deal. Garlic naan was also flavorless. Probably won’t order from them again.

  12. Despite picking Indian Hot for the chicken korma, it wasn’t spicy at all. If that’s not a dish that can be customized, the option maybe shouldn’t be there. It tasted fine otherwise, though. The meat in the goat curry, however, was almost entirely fat (where it wasn’t bone,) and it’s just this side of inedible. The Chicken 65 was reasonably spicy, flavorful, and tender; it was better than the entrees. Ultimately, neither dish was worth the price.
