Firstly, I was expecting my food around the time indicated 9:10 pm. At 9:25 I called asked is the delivery on its way the woman said that it was. It didn’t come until almost 10 pm. The driver apologized about the late arrival my food was cold and I had to reheat it and then my shrimp was over cooked and my general chicken was fried in dirty cooking oil The condensation that built up inside my container made the food soggy and the sauce watery. The only thing that was good was crab ragoons and the spinach
The delivery driver and restaurant were not up on the tracking process. My order status never progressed to “out for delivery” and I never knew where the car was. This is often important to me because drivers get confused about where our apartment is and I want to be able to run outside and wave when they get close. But I can’t do this if there is zero tracking. It worked out fine in the end, but still.
I LOVE EVERGREEN! The food is always great! They are generous with lunch portions, although some might want to ask for light sauce or sauce on the side, especially if ordering takeout. I live in east Ypsilanti and this is my place to go whenever I’m craving Chinese/Sichuan!
This restaurant is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. Every single time I have ordered from here, they have gotten it wrong, late, would not fix it, would not give me a refund, and have been RUDE, demanding tips. Do not order from here if you don’t want to be frustrated.
Evergreen is an Ann Arbor institution, it’s been here for decades and I know I can count on it for clean atmosphere and quality food. If I’m being honest their sesame chicken isn’t my favorite but I enjoyed my Kung Pao and lo mein today!
We have ordered from Evergreen many times. First time that the good was not good. Very dry and the ribs had no meat on them. Zero. The rice had something like a glob of fat that must have fallen in it. You could lick it up by your fingers. Not good.
I am so glad they have pictures of every item on your site now – it makes it easier to choose. More complete descriptions would be the next step – for example in the twice cooked pork dish I ordered they should specify that it is pork belly, not just pork.
I got Pad Thai, it was really good but did not expect big pieces of white onion. Also would have liked a lot more heat and the sauce could have been a bit thicker and covered more. That being said I got my food very quickly and it was cooked very well (well done chefs). I would definitely eat here again I just would be a bit more specific while ordering… overall Evergreen Restaurant did very well. Thanks Y’all …Lol
Evergreen is good at cooking lambs. The lamb chop stew tastes so nice. Eggplant with pork is flavorful. Good to eat with rice. Leek pie however is not quite satisfying. What I used to eat is made of leek and egg and no dry shrimps. It’s a matter of personal taste but it will be better if ingredients are written clearly.
they were SLAMMED christmas day with demanding customers, but they still held their composure and super polite despite the chaos thay was going on. my order of the steamed duck & chinese broccoli in oyster sauce was absolutely delicious and i’d reorder that in a heartbeat. i plan on bringing my sister and her boyfriend here when they visit in the new year. i hope you guys got some rest!
I ordered the hotpot tofu multiple times and it is off its regular taste this time. It will be more tasty if the flavor is stronger. It’s plain greasy for now and the pork slices in it are to some degree over cooked. The Shanghai fried chicken is delicious though.
They had Chinese folks eating there which is one of the signs of a good place. Traditional Chinese food is something I mis and this place has a whole traditional menu. The food was good and look forward to eating from there again.
I’ve never left a review before, but my order was so wrong, subpar, delivered late, and not cheap so here we are. The worst part was not how late the order was, rather the block of cold, fried to a crisp noodles in a styrofoam box that was meant to be our pan style noodles separate from the actual sauce and veggies and protein that was meant to be on it. I understand that some restaurants choose to separate the noodles from the sauce, makes no sense, but I get it happens. These noodles however were not edible and had to be fully recooked, which takes away the whole point of ordering food, and were disgusting once I was actually able to eat it. I sound kind of petty I know, but the order was that bad and disappointing. The little dumplings were tasty so I’ll end on that good note.
Check your bag if you ordered a lot. I ordered five dishes and it came in two bags. Unfortunately there was a mix-up between the driver and the restaurant. I only got one bag at first. The good thing is that the driver and the restaurant both were very helpful. I contacted the driver and the driver called the restaurant. Since it was late, the restaurant sent its own driver to send me my second bag of food. A bit of hassle with my first order, but seeing how the restaurant handled it and the awesome food quality (some might say too salty/spicy), I would strongly recommend this restaurant!
The food has been getting way too spicy recently. I have purchased from them for years but in the past month everything is too hot to eat on orders that were always the same level. My order was soaked in chili oil so much it ran out. It used to be only a tablespoon was used, now they are using 2 cups.
The fried rice/wonton lunch special is incredible. I ordered some bao thinking they looked small in the picture but they are BIG. I’m not complaining at all though, you really get your money’s worth of good food here.
Food was good. Order the general tso’s chicken extra spicy, but wasn’t all that spicy. The pork buns were as pictured. Food was good though, on par with any other Chinese spot.
I generally order the same item (Happy Family), but it never seems to have enough mushrooms. So I asked for extra … previous orders, that was $2, but this time, the employee said it would be $3. When the order came, there were barely enough mushrooms to count … and this was supposed to be the extra for which I paid. I think this will be my last order from Evergreen … it can’t save the restaurant that much money to short my order.
The drivier is not reliable. They offen fail to deliver your order. They cannot read the delivery instructions. They do not even give you a word when they discard your food cuz they FAIL to CONTACT YOU even if you have specific instructions attached.
